One person was arrested by sheriff’s deputies following a residential fire in San Clemente Sunday morning.
The fire broke out shortly before 5:30 a.m. in the 2300 block of Calle La Serna, where bright orange flames could be seen shooting from the roof of the home, surrounded by smoke. It took firefighters 49 minutes to bring the fire under control, the Orange County Fire Department said on X.
Neither the Orange County Sheriff’s Department nor OCFA provided information on the person arrested or the cause of the fire.
The investigation is ongoing, authorities said.
Homes in the neighborhood, on the inland side of Highway 5 and near a golf course, are valued at more than $2 million on real estate sites.
Additional information will be added to this report as it becomes available.
