1 dead, 1 seriously injured in East Garfield Park shooting – NBC Chicago
One man is dead and another is in critical condition following a shooting in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on Monday night.
Chicago police say the shooting happened in the 3400 block of West Fifth shortly after 6 p.m. Monday.
A 41-year-old man and a 36-year-old man were both hit by gunfire at the scene. Police said the 41-year-old was beaten multiple times and taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The 36-year-old man was transported to an area hospital after being shot at least once. He was taken to an area hospital, where he was found to be in critical condition.
Police are investigating the shooting and no suspects are in custody.
